,Castle Hill Car Festival gears up to host live Classic F1 action

On Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August, the magnificent parkland grounds of Castle Hill, the North Devon home of the Earl and Countess of Arran, will once again be the setting for the high-octane Castle Hill Car Festival. Featured in a press review last year as one of the ‘must-do’ summer motoring events, the organisers have worked hard behind the scenes to add even more attractions.

In addition to a display of up to 1,000 classic cars there will be showcase exhibits of the very latest models from Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lotus and Jaguar, plus a comprehensive range of family cars.

The headline exhibit for 2014 will be the Classic Formula One and Racing Paddock. This fantastic display will include some of the most iconic Classic F1 cars including Michael Schumacher’s Benetton, an Arrows A21 and a Hesketh 308. Also on show will be a Group C Le Mans car and the very latest 2014 Bentley Continental GT3 racer, and as a first for the South West, many of these iconic cars will be taking part in live-action demonstration runs on the competition track - a truly spectacular treat for all motorsport fans.

Talking of motorsport, throughout the Festival the track will host the Track Sprint Challenge, which is sponsored this year by Goodridge. This is a sprint event through the heart of the Festival site and will feature a fantastic field of historic and classic motorsport greats plus modern competition cars.

In addition to the F1 and race car displays the track will also feature demonstration runs from many of the world’s best supercars including Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari Porsche, Jaguar, BMW and Mercedes.

Not all the action takes place on the ground, the breathtaking Abarth stunt plane display returns to wow the crowds on both days as do the ever popular helicopter pleasure flights which will whisk you off high above Exmoor and the spectacular North Devon coastline. Also new for 2014 will be a Food and Drink pavilion showcasing the very best West Country produce. For the youngsters there is also a fantastic children’s play area.

The Festival opens from 10am to 6pm both days with plenty of free parking. Adult ticket prices start at just £15.00. More information is available on the Festival website – www.castlehillcarfestival.co.uk
