Motor Sport supports Masters Festival

The illustrious Motor Sport magazine will be supporting the Brands Hatch Masters Festival this weekend by sponsoring a Driver of the Day award as part of its 90th anniversary celebrations.

The annual festival, headlined by the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship and FIA Masters Historic Sports car Championship, runs at Brands Hath this weekend, May 24th/25th. As part of the celebrations of 50 years since Brands hosted its first Formula One Grand Prix, Motor Sport will be providing a Driver of the Day award, which will be a framed photograph of Jim Clark in action, sourced from LAT Photographic’s extensive archive.

Rachel Bailey, Masters Historic Racing Event Manager, said: “We are delighted that a publication with the reputation and history of Motor Sport is joining us this weekend. We always anticipate great racing and this incentive will only make Sunday’s racing even better.”

Motor Sport magazine Editor Damien Smith said: “Motor Sport is delighted to be supporting the Masters Historic Festival with a ‘Driver of the Day’ award as part of the magazine’s 90th anniversary celebrations. Brands Hatch is a circuit close to the hearts of everyone at Motor Sport – certainly during my childhood I considered it a second home! As the track celebrates the 50th anniversary of its first British GP, we thought it would be fitting to present a picture of Jim Clark winning in 1964 to the driver who shows true racing ‘spirit’ during the action on Sunday.”
