Dunlop switch to Britcar

Dunlop are rumoured to be on the verge of announcing a major deal with Britcar - the popular series run by the European Endurance and Racing Club boss James Tucker.

The deal is rumoured to involve extensive marketing and logistical support for the series on a long term basis and is bound to be welcomed by competitors.

The British GT championship switch from Dunlop for next year was an unpopular decision in the eyes of many teams - and it would appear that Dunlop have wasted no time in announcing a new deal with Britcar to safeguard their position at the forefront of sports and production car racing.

The Britcar series seems to be going from strength to strength - and last weekend's Snetterton 5 hour race provided a close finish with the verdict finally going to the Iain Dockerill / Nigel Greensal Porsche 996 GT3 after 229 laps of the Norfolk circuit.

It is understood that Britcar, Belcar and the Dutch Supercar series have pledged not to clash dates - which presents Dunlop with a realistic logistical supply scenario aswell as providing Dunlop with an attractive marketing proposition.

Britcar seems to be going from strength to strength - the idea of providing competitors with a wide cross section of cars with a level and cost effective playing field has resulted in strong entries for the races and the forthcoming 24 hour race in September should dish up more of the same.
