MARINO FRANCHITTI AND GREGOR FISKEN
With an appropriately all-Scottish driver line-up, the 'Tartan Terror" - the Porsche 997 GT3-R - was back in action over the weekend in Motor Racing Legends' GT3 grid at the BRDC Classic at Silverstone. Gregor and Marino's best result came in race one, with a strong mid-field finish, among what is one of the great new historic racing grids. Thanks to MRL, Pursuit Racing and of course Marino for a great weekend!

Our own Oliver Marcais was back in action at Silverstone too, driving an XK120 with Nick Finburgh in the combined grids of the RAC Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy. Amidst a large and varied grid, the pair drove well to improve upon their result in race one to place 6th in class in race two.
RETURNING TO SILVERSTONE ON DISPLAY
Owned in period by avid racer David Skailes, the 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT - 0159/R - made its only known period race appearance at the 1965 AMOC Silverstone. This iconic all-rounder returned to Silverstone over the weekend for the feature display outside MRL's HQ.
DB4GT INFORMATION
Joining the DB4GT at Silverstone was one of the 31 original Independent Competition Cobras built. This 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 had a proven track record on the SCCA scene in period as well as being a habitual winner in current historic racing. Silverstone is a familiar hunting ground for chassis CSX 2448, having scored five wins at the track in the last three years.
