Jordan in stunning form at Knockhill

Andrew Jordan had his best day yet of competition in Junior Rallycross at Knockhill (Scotland) on Monday (30 May), with a total of seven wins in eight races, including victory in the all-important final of the British Junior Rallycross Championship. The teenager from Sutton Coldfield, who celebrated his 16th birthday in the days before the event, set the benchmark throughout the meeting in the field of junior racers competing in identical Minis. The meeting included rounds of both the British Junior Rallycross Championship and the BTRDA Junior Rallycross Championship and that meant eight races in all, with three heats and a final for each championship. From the six heats, Andrew won five times and was only denied a clean sweep when his windscreen was obscured in one of the heats. To prevent dust, the organisers water the gravel sections of the circuit throughout the meeting, but an excess of water was put down just before one of Andrew's heats. That left the track partially flooded and Andrew's vision was badly affected when he hit the standing water. He still finished second despite struggling to see where he was going at times!Undeterred, he went on to win both finals in commanding style, scoring his first overall British Junior victory in the process. "I so enjoyed it; I was just pushing harder and harder all day," said an elated Andrew. He will next be racing at Blyton (Lincolnshire) on 19 June.Andrew Jordan is supported by Team Dynamics and the Bill Gwynne Rally School
