Tom returns to the familiar surroundings of Brands Hatch in Kent this weekend, to compete in the Dunlop British Touring Car Championship.

Brands Hatch is the venue for rounds 7, 8 and 9 of the BTCC this Sunday and Tom will be back behind the wheel of the Lego Star Wars Honda Civic. He will be hoping to repeat the recent pace he showed in the car at Thruxton in the previous rounds, where he claimed pole position in qualifying and comfortably led the opening race there, only for a tyre failure to snatch victory away from him;

“ Thruxton showed what a competitive package we have with the Honda. Although the car really has not been developed from last season, I think there are a number of factors which are paying off for us. Firstly this is Arena Motorsport’s fourth season running the Civic type R and they know it inside out. Their set-up data is extensive and that helps to make the right decisions in the limited testing time available to us. Secondly, it is my third year in the car and I have learnt how to get exactly what I want from it as well. Together we have a good idea before we go to each venue of what we need to achieve and how to achieve it quickly. That was really evident at Thruxton where I think I was fastest in most of the sessions and hopefully it will be the same at Brands Hatch. “

Practice and qualifying take place during Saturday, with the three races following on Sunday.
