Javier Villa takes victory in Albacete

After his first victory in Valencia, Javier Villa celebrated another impressive Spaniosh F3 victory at the Albacete circuit. The 12 points for this win allows Javier to take over the lead in the drivers championship standings.

Sebastian Vettel, in Racing Engineering’s car number 3, accompanied his teammate onto the podium, finishing the race in 3rd.

Javier Villa, who started the race from pole position, continuedhis outstanding form during Sunday’s race. Leading the fieldinto the first corner, Javier Villa set a very high pace andmarked the fastest lap time of the race with a 1’25.886. Javiercelebrated a glorious start to finish victory, leaving PerezAicart more than 10 seconds behind him. Ricardo Risattistarted the race from 3rd position and fell back into 7th positionat the start. Ricardo was able to make up one position andfinish the race in 6th place. Sebastian Vettel, who started therace behind his teammates in 5th position on the grid, kept hisposition at the start and overtook Soucek in lap 11. Sebastianmoved up again, when Barba retired from the race andfinished in 3rd position with a only 0.4 second gap to PerezAicart in 2nd.

Marcos Martinez started the race from third position in hiscategory, but was pushed off the track with only four laps togo and could not finish the race. With this incident close theend of the race, Marcos was classified as 16th.

Alfonso de Orleans-Borbon announced, “Javi wasuntouchable today. Amazing, how quickly he pulled awayfrom the rest of the field. After taking the pole with such adifference, today he just didn’t have any opponents to raceagainst. Sebastian also did a very good job today.
