Rowbottom claims first BTCC win of the season in race two @ Snetterton

NAPA Racing UK's Dan Rowbottom claimed his first Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship victory of the season – the third of his career – as he fended off a number of challengers at Snetterton.

The three Goodyear hard-shod tyre runners – Dan Cammish, Tom Ingram and Ash Sutton – all made good getaways, but it wasn't long before they had the soft runners reeling them in.

Pole-sitter Cammish had already been relegated to third by Sutton and Ingram, and he was shuffled down to eighth by the end of the opening lap, whilst the other two front-runners initially held on.

Rowbottom had a few blessings along the way, which included Sutton not making things too difficult for his team-mate to get by, but the biggest moment took plan when Ingram ran wildly wide through Riches and made contact with the barrier while trying to correct the car.

Now in the lead, Rowbottom's race was about to get even tougher as a quarter of Hyundai's – Daniel Lloyd, Adam Morgan, Tom Chilton and Chris Smiley – swarmed in.

Lloyd made his move and looked to have cemented P1 as he sliced his #132 machine by Rowbottom's Ford Focus, but the latter almost immediately fought back to retake the lead.

Morgan – with additional TOCA Turbo Boost available – then made light work of Lloyd and he then set about hauling in Rowbottom ahead of him.

A two-lap showdown took place as Morgan attacked while Rowbottom used every inch of track to defend his position, which he duly did until the chequered flag fell.

There was one final move as Tom Chilton completed the podium to make it a double for Team VERTU - the only squad to finish on the podium in each and every BTCC race so far this season.

Restart Racing were rewarded with fourth and fifth for Lloyd and Smiley, whilst Mikey Doble and Josh Cook were next in the order.

Sam Osborne, Charles Rainford and Ash Sutton completed the top ten positions
