For over a century, Spa-Francorchamps has been a legend for all motorsport fans. A dream playground for participants in the FFSA French GT Championship! One week before the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa competitors, they will take on the Ardennes track as part of Spa Speedweek.

Featuring a varied program featuring the finest French series and British GT, Spa Speedweek marks the launch of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. For three days, from Friday, June 20 to Sunday, June 22, fans can enjoy a completely free show with no fewer than 16 races over the weekend. This is an ideal opportunity to introduce your family or friends to quality motorsport! In addition to the FFSA GT and British GT, they will see the FFSA French Touring Car Championship, the French F4 Championship, the Porsche Carrera Cup France, and the Mitjet Trophy France on track.

After Nogaro and Dijon-Prenois, Spa-Francorchamps offers a completely different setting for the mid-season of the FFSA French GT Championship. At 7 km, the Belgian track is the longest and fastest of the season. In 2024, the pole position lap was completed at an average speed of over 170 km/h!

By offering a dusk race on Saturday starting at 8:45 p.m., the FFSA French GT Championship will also give spectators and drivers a taste of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with a battle against the setting sun. On Sunday, the second race will start at 4:10 p.m. As usual, both confrontations will be streamed live and completely free on the GTWorld YouTube channel, which now has over 735,000 subscribers.

Pro-Am: hunting Jouffret and Trémoulet

With four winning crews – also representing four different manufacturers – in four races, the Pro-Am category of the FFSA French GT Championship is once again very open. Winners of the second race at Dijon-Prenois, Olivier Jouffret and Éric Trémoulet (Mercedes-AMG GT4/Vic'Team) also benefited from their excellent consistency to lead the provisional standings. With a fourth-place finish as their lowest result, the 2023 champions are still applying the strategy that has allowed them to reach the final podium of the championship in the last three seasons.

Behind them, Stanislav Safronov and Aleksandr Vaintrub (Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 EVO/Mirage Racing) are causing a stir. Their first FFSA GT victory at the Dijon-Prenois circuit has propelled them into second place. Will they be able to confirm at Spa-Francorchamps that they are now among the title contenders? To do so, they will also have to take on some stiff competition! We are thinking primarily of Gaspard Simon-Pascal Huteau (Alpine A110 GT4 EVO/Code Racing Development), Rudy Servol-Nicolas Ciamin (Ginetta G56 GT4 EVO/CMR), the 2024 champion Rodolphe Wallgren and his teammate Nelson Panciatici (Alpine A110 GT4+/Chazel Technologie Course), but also the duo Gwenaël Delomier-Ethan Gialdini (Ginetta G56 GT4 EVO/CMR), who paid dearly for their retirement from Dijon. There will be revenge in the air in this Pro-Am class which promises to be once again very competitive!

In addition to the regular FFSA GT competitors, a few international crews will be competing in Belgium. The W&D Racing Team will field a BMW for the Meloni father and son (Paolo and Davide). A BMW will also be entered by the Chazel Technologie Course team, and this one will have a strong local flavor. With the young Belgian hopeful Lucas Cartelle partnered with the experienced Armand Fumal, it could well play the spoilsport. Another Belgian, Lorens Lecertua, is changing teammates: this time he will be supported by Benjamin Ricci in the Saintéloc Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4. On home soil, he hopes to score important points in the SRO GT Academy.

In this competition reserved for young drivers under 30, Lorens Lecertua occupies joint second place, ten points behind leader Ethan Gialdini. Tied with Lorens Lecertua, Nicolas Ciamin would like to retake the lead in Belgium. But also watch out for Rémy Van Straaten, Viny Beltramelli, Gaspard Simon, Thomas Léal, and Jodie Sloss, all very close to the top three. The fight for the €150,000 purse to compete in the GT World Challenge Europe in 2026, accompanied by support from SRO and the FFSA Academy, is far from over.

Am Cup: Lémeret and Auriacombe want to make a break

Stéphane Lémeret has a long history with the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. A week before competing in his 24th CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, the Belgian will arrive as the leader of the Am Cup of the FFSA French GT Championship. He and his teammate Stéphane Auriacombe have won three of the four races contested so far and hold a 20-point advantage over Kevin Jimenez and Florent Grizaud (Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport/GPA Racing), the only other duo to have tasted victory this season.

Behind these two leading duos, Matthieu Casalonga (Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport/GPA Racing), once again partnered with Benjamin Cauvas, leads the chase ahead of the British Jodie Sloss and David Levy (Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 EVO/Mirage Racing). While Thomas Leal and Dilantha Malagamuwa (Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2/Circuit Toys) complete the top 5 of the provisional championship, we will be keeping an eye on several newcomers, including Philippe Thalamy (Audi R8 LMS GT4/Team Speedcar).

Ginetta GTA Cup: full-scale test

In collaboration with the European importer of the Ginetta brand, Ginetta G56 GTAs will join the FFSA French GT Championship field for the first time at the Spa-Francorchamps race. This is an opportunity to conduct a test in anticipation of a possible full-time integration into the leading championship in France. This is part of SRO's desire, in agreement with the FFSA, to create several divisions within the FFSA GT in the future.

Already seen in the sprint races of the FFSA French Tourism Championship last year, the Ginetta G56 GTAs are this time part of a more "semi-endurance" format with 60-minute races contested by two drivers.

Three cars are expected to be in the race, all entered by Switch Racing. In the first, the highly experienced Clément Mateu will team up with Romain Damiani. The reigning champion of the Mitjet France Trophy is getting his first taste of the upper echelon. For its debut in FFSA GT, the Ginetta GTA Cup will have a very international feel, with a car entrusted to Malaysian Alister Yoong, who is none other than the son of former Formula 1 driver Alex Yoong, and British Peter Thompson, a regular in Ginetta competitions in the United Kingdom. The driver lineup for the third car will be confirmed in the coming hours.
