Go Go Go! for Silverstones GP Party

Silverstone has announced that the hugely popular Grand Prix Party will once again be kicking off the post-race celebrations at this year’s FORMULA 1™ Foster’s British Grand Prix on Sunday 10th July.

The ‘voice of F1’, Murray Walker, will start the event - free to all race day ticket holders - in  true  F1  style,  rounding  off  an  unforgettable  weekend  for  fans  as  they  see  some  of  their  F1 heroes mixing it on stage with stars from the world of music.

More than 15,000 fans stayed behind after the chequered flag in 2004 to savour music from The Beach Boys, and guest appearances from, among others, Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Mark Webber  and  Jarno  Trulli.  2005  will  see  the  UK’s  favourite  boogie-woogie  maestro  JOOLS HOLLAND  and  his  amazing  RHYTHM  &  BLUES  ORCHESTRA  turn  Silverstone  into  a  giant dance-floor. Jools,  an  avid  motor-racing fan,  will  be  joined  on  stage  by  a  host  of Grand  Prix  drivers  and  F1 personalities  in  the  specially-constructed  arena  in  the  centre  of  the  world  famous  Silverstone circuit.

Free access to the inside of Becketts and the Grand Prix Party will be available to race- goers immediately after the last race of the day. Another  well-known  face  already  confirmed  for  this  year’s  event,  the  third  to  be  staged  at  the British Grand Prix, is ITV’s F1 analyst, Tony Jardine, who will be joined on stage by a number of famous faces including current drivers and former British Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert.   Silverstone  is  gearing  up  for  the  biggest  British  Grand  Prix  in  several  years,  with  the  event  on target to sell-out - for the second year running - in just two or three weeks time. With only a limited number of tickets remaining fans are advised to book soon to avoid disappointment.

Richard Phillips, managing director of Silverstone Circuits Ltd, commented: “This post-race Party, free for everyone attending on the Sunday of the British Grand Prix, reaffirms our commitment to providing fans with value for money and doing what we can to provide access to F1 drivers and personalities. If the last two years are anything to go by, we can look forward to a fantastic finale to the 2005 British Grand Prix.”

Jools will be getting the party started with his infectious collection of rhythm and blues classics. Other acts to feature on the day will be announced soon. 4,000  tickets  for  the  2005  FORMULA  1™  Foster’s  British  Grand  Prix  on  8th  -  10th  July  are  still available  online  at silverstone-circuit.co.uk  or from  the  British  Grand  Prix  hotline  on  08704 588300.
