2.0 Hot Rods National at Bovingdon

Spedeworth South presents another great, value for money days racing to Bovingdon Raceway when the non-contact 2.0 Hot Rods contest their National Championship and the all-action Superstox go all out to secure the British Championship on Sunday, June 19 at 1.30pm. The metal-bending Rookie Bangers and the visiting Grand Prix Midgets support the two main contests.

Fans of racing that does not involve putting the bumper in will be able to catch the 2.0 Hot Rods as their pilots contest the National Championship.  It takes skilled drivers to power the highly tuned non-contact machines around the Hertfordshire circuit, with just inches to spare between the cars and the very solid safety fence. The drivers will need all their skill on the day as they put the pedal very firmly to the metal in pursuit of the National Championship.

The Superstox are firm crowd pleasers at Bovingdon, where the single seater cars combination of high-speed racing, coupled with the drivers ability to use the front bumpers to move opponents off their racing line always produces action filled races. With the British title up for grabs and a grid of the formulas top drivers on hand to attempt to win it, the scene is set for a memorable race at the Hertfordshire circuit.

The Rookie Bangers always produce large grids of cars at Bovingdon. Large groups of MOT failures attempting to negotiate the circuit can only result in one thing and that is massive pile-ups. Expect to see Bovingdon raceway resembling a scrap yard as the day’s racing progresses for this highly entertaining formula.

To round off the day’s action-packed racing programme, the Grand Prix Midgets will also be taking to the circuit providing some great racing from these purpose built single-seater racing machines.

With four great formulas in action, free parking, a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, and two all-action title races to be decided, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) looks set to provide another action packed day of racing.
