Wyn Humphreys Dukeries Preview

Wyn Humphreys will make his return to the British Trials and Rally Drivers Association Rally Championship (BTRDA) after a dramatic exit from the previous round, the Red Dragon Rally. Humphreys retired from the event after rolling his car out of the rally while in eleventh place.

The Aberdyfi driver had to miss the Mutiny Rally in early June, which was a qualifying round of the Welsh National Championship, which he is also contesting in 2005.

Despite the car not being completely repaired after the damage caused by the accident, the twenty-one year old driver will use a similar TEG Sport Subaru Impreza hire car for the Dukeries Rally on Saturday 18th June 2005.

"We have to keep our championship alive and could not miss this event after failing to finish in South Wales. The hire car should be okay, as there is very little difference between the two cars."

The Subaru driver will again be partnered by Machynlleth co-driver, Mark Lewis and the pair will be eager to get some points in the bag.

" We want a good result and will be driving with that in mind. While I have only contested six rallies to date on gravel, we are in a good position, we need to finish the remaining events in the calendar, which will be our main priority now."

The rally offers 45 stage miles to test the team with the start from Mansfield Civic Centre at 8.30am on Saturday morning. The mileage split over seven timed stages through Sherwood Forest, before returning to the finish in Mansfield at 16.00pm

Wyn and Mark are supported in their 2005 campaign by TEG Sport and Pen Rhos Garage
