14th & 15th June 2005 Paul Ricard Test Track
After a very changeable first day at the Paul Ricard Track, where the drivers tested in both wet and dry conditions, the second day commenced looking bright and sunny.
Adam using only one set of tyres on Tuesday, encountered a slight spin, but managed to take control and go on to record a quicker lap time on new tyres the following day.
In general the Wednesday morning session was quicker for everyone, however Giorgio was fastest in the afternoon, with a time good enough for second in the overall classification.
Team mate Adam Carroll although only three tenths of a second off Giorgio’s pace, ended the test in sixth position, having tested the car in various configurations.
Nico Rosberg, of the Art Grand Prix team was quickest overall from Giorgio, and Ardens’ Heikki Kovalainen in third position.
Driver - Giorgio Pantano“In these two days things have worked very well. I hope we can find a good set up for the next race at Magny Cours. Now it’s just a question of going there and getting the result. I am very happy with the teams’ efforts, they have worked very hard. I go away from here positive.”
Driver - Adam Carroll“When we started off this morning the balance of the car had changed from yesterday. Because of the rain we had, we altered things to suit, however because the conditions were different again today, we ended up chasing our tails a bit! However saying this we got a lot of positive things done today, which is very good ”
