Broad Arrow Auctions, driven by Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY), is proud to announce exciting additions to consignments for its Global Icons: Spring Online Auction taking place from 11-18 May. Joining other highly desirable icons of motoring and motorsport are a 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari, an extremely rare 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo WLS1 and the Lamborghini Gallardo tested by Jeremy Clarkson for Top Gear shortly after this Sant’Agata supercar was launched.
“The second in our Global Icons: Online auction series features collector cars that have made an indelible mark on motoring history,” says Joe Twyman, VP of Sales for Broad Arrow’s EMEA Region. “The desirability of the LaFerrari, the rarity of the 993-generation WLS1 911 Turbo and the provenance of the Lamborghini Gallardo are testament to the trust collectors have in our expert team at Broad Arrow Auctions. We are extremely excited to present these and many other motoring icons to the international collector car community later this month.”
The carefully curated selection of models in the Global Icons: Spring Online auction includes:
2015 Ferrari LaFerrari (Estimate: €4.250.000 - €4.750.000)
The LaFerrari was Maranello’s first hybrid hypercar, the pinnacle of design, engineering and performance. At the time its 6.3-litre V12 was the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 ever fitted to a Ferrari and it was combined with genuine Formula 1 technology, including the HY-KERS electric motor.
Chassis 214333 is finished in the rare Bianco Fuji with a Bianchi/Neri leather interior, a striking combination enhanced further by Giallo Modena brake callipers. Delivered new to the Ferrari concessionaire in Hong Kong, it features exceptionally low mileage at just 92km and is a fantastic opportunity to acquire one of the most important hypercars ever made. A true icon of Ferrari history.
1997 Porsche 911 Turbo WLS1 (Estimate: €220.000 - €260.000)
In 1996, Porsche Exclusive created the Werksleistungssteigerung (WLS1) version of the 993-generation 911 Turbo. Using the X50 Power Kit, revised engine tuning and an additional cooler increased the power output to 424 horsepower, the equivalent of the 911 GT2. Today WLS1 models are extremely rare and this is one of only 15 French-market examples. Its racing-style sports seats, stainless steel exhaust tips, genuine Porsche CDR 21 CD radio and sunroof-delete option further add to its rarity. A top-end engine overhaul in 2025 is the latest entry in an impeccable service history for this WLS1, a 993 that is perfectly suited for everyday driving yet capable of astonishing performance.
2003 Lamborghini Gallardo (Estimate: €170.000 - €220.000)
When Jeremy Clarkson drove the new Lamborghini Gallardo for Top Gear, he described it as being “in a different class. It’s epic.” This is the very car he drove, one of the first 50 off the production line and originally registered to Automobili Lamborghini itself. Equipped with the desirable six-speed gated manual gearbox and reinforced clutch that was developed for the Gallardo models supplied to the Italian Polizia, this superb example combines exceptional provenance with the level of performance that deserves to be called “epic”. Showing 44,111 km at the time of cataloguing, it has been well cared for by an Italian Lamborghini collector since 2010 and is a compelling proposition for any collector.
1993 Jaguar XJ220 (Estimate: €550.000 - €650.000)
The supercar era of the late 1980s was dominated by the Ferrari F40, Porsche 959 and the Bugatti EB110, but Jaguar’s success at Le Mans in 1988 spurred a group of its designers and engineers to devote their spare time to creating the XJ220. After management gave the project the green light, only 277 examples of what was the world’s fastest production car were produced. Finished in Spa Silver over a Smoke Grey interior, this example first lived in Japan before returning to the UK in 2015. Its service history includes work by famous names like TWR Jaguar Sport and DK Engineering and today with only 6,500 kilometres from new, this is one of the most captivating examples of an exclusive 1990s supercar.
2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG (Estimate: €625.000 - €675.000)
Mercedes-Benz commissioned HWA AG and AMG to produce only 100 models of the CLK DTM AMG to celebrate its 2003 DTM Championship title. With the odometer showing only 80 kilometres, this incredible example of the aggressively styled, DTM-inspired Mercedes-AMG is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic with AMG bucket seats and its hand-built 582 horsepower, 5.4-litre supercharged V8. It presents a wonderful opportunity for a collector to acquire one of the most extreme Mercedes-AMG road cars every created.
1994 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II N1 (Estimate: €130.000 - €160.000)
Nissan re-introduced the legendary GT-R nameplate in 1989 and quickly dominated Group A touring car racing around the world. Earning the nickname ‘Godzilla’ for its monstrous power and indestructability, the R32 GT-R became an instant icon with multiple iterations throughout its lifetime. The last of these was the V-Spec II N1 of which only 63 were produced. This superb example is finished in Crystal White over grey and black cloth and its 2.6-litre, inline-six with its factory upgraded turbochargers is further enhanced by a subsequently fitted A’PEXI RS Evolution exhaust. As one of the rarest examples of the GT-R legacy, it represents a compelling addition for any collector.
