Francois Delecour & Peugeot 306 MAXI IKE dominate Rallye du Chablais

The French driver, co-driven by Fabrice Gordon, secured 13 fastest times out of 15 special stages to claim another solid victory. Competing in the FIA European Historic Rally Championship Pre-2000 cat., Delecour drove to success the kit car completely rebuilt by IKE Racing in this second round of their 2026 program.

The duo  Delecour/Gordon, behind the wheel of the ex-Salanon 306 Maxi rebuilt by IKE Racing and running on Michelin tyres, dominated the twisting stages of the Rallye du Chablais (CH). They secured a commanding victory by taking 13 stage wins out of the 15 contested. in this second round of their 2026 FIA EHRC Pre-2000 campaign.

Despite the event being largely unfamiliar to the French driver - who had only entered once before, back in 2016 - the combination of experience, speed, mechanical reliability, and tyre performance delivered another top result for IKE Racing, following their winning debut at the Historic Vltava Rallye (CZ) last April.

It is a well-deserved reward for the Reggio Emilia-based team founded by Andrea “ZIPPO” Zivian, reflecting the extensive development and investment dedicated to the ground-up rebuild of the legendary French kit car. The car, a fan favourite in the 1990s, is now eligible for historic motorsport competitions under the new FIA regulations.

The enduring Delecour, who tackled the Swiss event just two days after completing a 1,000 km cycling race through the Corsican mountains, gave a positive assessment of the weekend: "This rally, with its fast, winding, and highly uneven stages, allowed the 306 Maxi to fully demonstrate its potential. The car was flawless in terms of both reliability and setup. With the correct tyre choice, we were able to enjoy ourselves, entertain the public, and maximize our result."

Andrea Zivian, the driving force behind the demanding remake project of the French kit car, expressed his satisfaction with the 306 Maxi’s performance in this second seasonal outing:  "This project has been engaging us for over three years and presented numerous complex technical challenges. However, when objectives are met, the hard work is forgotten and only the satisfaction remains. For a true enthusiast like myself - ZIPPO continued - bringing together my favourite car, its legendary driver, and many technical partners from that era on a major podium is a dream come true. Now we must focus on preparing thoroughly for the upcoming rounds of the European Championship, which will undoubtedly be highly competitive."

Delecour/Gordon and the IKE 306 Maxi are highly anticipated by thousands of fans at the next round of the FIA EHRC Pre-2000: the iconic Ardeca Ypres Historic Rally 2026, scheduled from June 24 to 27 in West Flanders, Belgium.
