Broad Arrow’s Zürich Auction takes place on Saturday 7 November in partnership with Auto Zürich

Broad Arrow Auctions, driven by Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY), is proud to release the complete catalogue for its second Zürich Auction. Taking place on Saturday 7 November at the historic Dolder Grand Hotel, the catalogue features more than 80 of the world’s most desirable collector cars from all eras and genres, alongside a fascinating lineup of 25 memorabilia lots.

Among the cars set to go under the hammer at the iconic hotel overlooking Lake Zürich location is a 2012 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse that marked the debut of this exclusive hypercar on Bugatti’s stand at the Geneva Motor Show. It is one of a number of supercars and hypercars which share the spotlight with desirable classics, such as a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupé, as well as modern classic roadsters like a 1996 Alfa Romeo RZ.

“We are incredibly excited about the catalogue we have curated for our second Zürich Auction,” says Paul Gaucher, Head of Consignments, Switzerland at Broad Arrow Auctions. “Not only do we have exclusive hypercars, but with almost half of the catalogue offered without reserve, we have created a remarkable opportunity for collectors to acquire some of the most desirable models across a wide range of budgets.”

Leading a trio of supercars with remarkable provenance is the 2012 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse (Estimate: CHF 2’600’000 – CHF 3’300’000) that was the very car Bugatti used on its stand at the Geneva Motor Show to announce the debut of the model. This wasn’t just the reveal of a new supercar though, the Grand Sport Vitesse with its open top was the last of the Veyron lineage, closing one of the greatest chapters of performance car history ever written. Finished in Jet Grey over a Tangerine and black Italian leather interior, chassis 015, one of only 92 highly bespoke examples produced, is marked by its Geneva Motor Show 2012 plaques, identifying it as an even more collectable piece of Bugatti history.

A 2018 Ford GT (Estimate: CHF 600’000 – CHF 700’000) showing only 1,642 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, represents a wonderful opportunity for collectors to acquire a remarkable piece of Ford history. Finished in striking yellow with black dual racing stripes, the modern Ford GT can trace its lineage back to the original Le Mans-winning GT40 but with even greater performance and comfort. This is a rare European-delivered example, one of only 1,350 produced in the initial manufacturing run.

Significantly rarer and equally desirable is a 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Edition Roadster by MSO (Estimate: CHF 575’000 – CHF 675’000), one of only six roadster versions created by McLaren Special Operations. The rarest of all SLR models, it features every option, including the carbon fibre aerodynamic package, Handling Package, ceramic-coated Sports Exhaust and 722 S wheels. Finished in Anthracite Grey with an interior trimmed in Anthracite leather and Alcantara with McLaren Orange diamond stitching, it not only features the incredible handbuilt Mercedes-AMG V8, it also boasts 15 percent more downforce than the 722 Edition and 50 kg less weight, making it the most exhilarating street-legal SLR variant.

The catalogue features many of the world’s greatest classic cars, renowned for their style and performance. Few are as captivating as this 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupé (Estimate: CHF 1’350’000 – CHF 1’650’000). One of only 155 delivered new in stunning Fire Engine Red, its original owner was Alex Raymond, creator of the legendary Flash Gordon. This remarkably original example has never needed restoration and is offered for the first time in 32 years. It presents a superb opportunity to acquire one of the very best 300 SL Gullwing Coupé models eligible for the world’s greatest concours and driving events, including the Mille Miglia Storica.

Another classic with a superb connection to a movie hero is a 2020 Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger Edition (Estimate: CHF 750’000 – CHF 950’000). Aston Martin Works created only 25 authentic versions of the famous James Bond car, complete with working gadgets including simulated machine guns, a revolving number plate and extending rear bullet shield. This version also features the optional removable roof panel above the passenger seat, although the creators stopped short of adding a genuine ejector seat. It is finished in the signature Silver Birch paintwork, ensuring this DB5 is one of the most collectable of them all.

For those with a passion for Italian motoring, a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS (Estimate: CHF 1’350’000 – CHF 1’650’000) represents the epitome of elegant Ferrari touring. Finished in Giallo over Nero leather, it is one of 200 produced at Maranello and is a wonderful matching numbers example complete with its Ferrari Classiche Red Book that was issued in 2011.

The catalogue features a diverse selection of offered without reserve that deliver not only fantastic style, but affordable fun. Among them is a 1996 Alfa Romeo RZ (Estimate: CHF 65’000 – CHF 85’000), one of 278 Roadster Zagato models produced by Zagato featuring Alfa Romeo’s 3.0 litre Busso V6 engine. Finished in classic Nero black over a burgundy leather interior, this stylish roadster has driven only 35,918 kilometres and has been with its current owner for over a decade. Another roadster expected to attract great interest is a 1991 BMW Z1 AC Schnitzer (Estimate: CHF 65’000 – CHF 92’500), believed to be one of only ten BMW Z1 models to benefit from the renowned AC Schnitzer performance treatment. Manufactured in the final year of Z1 production, it is powered by BMW’s 2.7 litre M20 inline-six with AC Schnitzer modifications to give it 194 horsepower for some rewarding roadster enjoyment. A 1986 Lamborghini 5000 QV (Estimate: CHF 550’000 – CHF 750’000) is also offered without reserve. Finished in Rosso over a Champagne leather interior, this car was manufactured in February 1986 for the U.S. market, making it one of the coveted fuel-injected examples. Shortly after, it was exported to Switzerland and has remained in the country since

For the ultimate race-car-for-the-road experience, then the 2013 Radical SR3 SL (Estimate: CHF 70’000 – CHF 90’000) is the perfect choice. This fully road-legal race car was born on British racing circuits and is one of 55 produced, this example having been imported to Switzerland as the homologation car for the local market. It was completely rebuilt by EAS Fahrzeugtechnik in 2019 and benefits from an upgraded TTE turbocharger fitted in 2024, as well as three selectable power outputs of 237, 296 or 325 horsepower. Offered without reserve, it presents an opportunity to acquire a car that matches the power-to-weight ratio of a GT3 race car.

“It is a privilege to return to Zürich for our second auction. Switzerland is home to some of Europe’s most passionate and knowledgeable collectors, and we are immensely grateful to all our valued buyers and sellers,” says Karsten Le Blanc, SVP, Head of EMEA Region at Broad Arrow Auctions. “Their trust in us has allowed us to curate what is a truly exceptional catalogue which we are very excited to present to collectors from around the world and in the beautiful setting of the famous Dolder Grand.”
