Humphreys ready for Quinton challenge

Aberdyfi rally driver Wyn Humphreys will resume his British Trials and Rally Drivers Association Championship campaign on Saturday 9th July, when he contests round seven of the series, the Quinton Horiba Stages Rally.

The Mid Wales event will witness Humphreys return to his usual mount along with regular co-driver, Mark Lewis from Machynlleth, in their Subaru Impreza N10. The car having undergone an extensive repairs and re-build following the pairs retirement on the Red Dragon Rally in May.

"The guys at TEG Sport have worked hard on the car for us with an engine and gearbox re-build. It will be like driving a new car all over again and I'm really looking forward to driving my car again."

Although the young Welshman will not have time to test the car beforehand, he is confident he will quickly find his rhythm again.

"We used a TEG Sport hire car on the Dukeries, which isn't much different to ours, so it should be quite easy to settle back into the car and go for a good result. Although I wont get the chance to test the car beforehand, I don't think this will burden us on the rally itself. TEG Sport do a fantastic job with the preparation of the car and its down to us then to achieve the results. We will aim for a top fifteen spot, but I feel we can get inside the top ten if it all goes to plan."

The rally is based in the Mid Wales town of Llandovery and will consist of 45 miles over seven specially timed loose surface tests. The stages will take place in the forests of Crychan and Halfway just to the north east of the host town. The rally starts early on Saturday morning.

Wyn and Mark are supported in their 2005 campaign by TEG Sport and Pen Rhos Garage
