Jon Ingram Quinton Rally Preview
INGRAM RE-SCHEDULES SEASONJon Ingram will turn his attention away from the Kwik-Fit Pirelli British Rally Championship (BRC) and concentrate his efforts on the remaining rounds of the British Trials and Rally Drivers Association championship. Ingram started the year well with victories on the Wold Construction North Humberside and Astra National Rallies. Then taking third place on the BRC opener in Wales. The Ford Focus World Rally Car driver then suffered a roll on the Pirelli, which triggered a long standing back injury and forced Ingram to miss the third round of the BRC, the Scottish International Rally. Ingram has made the decision to miss the Jim Clark and will now contest the Quinton Horiba Stages Rally on Saturday 9th July. The Altrincham rallyman will be partnered by Ian Allsop for the second time after teaming up together for the first time on the recent Dukeries Rally. The pair will also use the Maxspeed Ford Focus WR Car for the second time on the Mid Wales based event."I'm gutted to miss the Jim Clark Rally with my car not ready and having missed the last three rounds of British Rally Championship it seemed pointless to continue. So we will now contest the remaining rounds of the BTRDA and see how that goes. We should have my car back for the Woodpecker and try and give the locals a run for their money."As for the Quinton, Ingram is well aware a victory will be a tall order with the starting line up and without his usual mount."There are some very quick drivers and some in similar machinery, so it should be a good spectacle. Although we want a good result, we don't want to take any unnecessary risks in someone else's car."The Quinton gets underway from Llandovery in Mid Wales on Saturday morning with the bulk of competitive mileage on Mynydd Epynt in the forests of Crychan and Halfway. Seven special stages will test competitors over 45 miles on the lose surface tests.
