Spedeworth South brings another, value for money days racing to Bovingdon Raceway when the Rookie Bangers, Stock Cars, Stock Rods and the awesome Lightning Rods take to the track on Sunday July 10th at 1.30pm.
Plenty of metal bashing action is on the cards when the armoured Stock Cars take to the Hertfordshire circuit. Capable of a good turn of speed and equipped with very purposeful front bumpers the Stock Cars always provide plenty of incident full racing as the drivers put their right foot down and the front bumper very firmly into the opposition.
The Rookie Bangers will also be in action in Round 6 of their track championship. With the drivers all keen to add those vital points to their tally a large grid of MOT failures that do not handle like a Formula 1 machines and the end result is enough spin outs, rollovers and pile ups to keep the most crash happy fans entertained.
The non-contact Stock Rods will also be in action on the day. The Stock Rods are built to a budget and limited to 1300-1400cc engine size. Large grids of evenly matched cars always ensure plenty of close racing action at Bovingdon as the drivers dice for position with just inches between each car.
To round off the day’s action-packed racing programme, the Lighting Rods will also be taking to the circuit. The Ford Sierra based Lightning Rods always provide some jaw-dropping racing as the big machines race door handle to door handle around the circuit. The combination of bulk and power results in tremendous racing action and some spectacular crashes if drivers make the slightest error. Catch these big machines in action and you will be left in doubt as to as to why they are nicknamed ‘Frightening Rods.’
With four great formulas in action, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) looks set to provide another action packed day of racing.
