The race line-up for the Porsche Festival at Brands Hatch over the Bank Holiday weekend of 27-29 August has been unveiled. The event is once again the highlight of the racing season for the Porsche Club GB.As well as double-header rounds of the Michelin Porsche Club Championship and Michelin Porsche Open Series, the weekend will include races for the BRSCC Porsche 924 Championship, a round of the Michelin Porsche Club Speed Championship, and the Porsche 4-Cylinder Trophy Races. The on-track action will start on Friday, 26 August, with a Porsche Club GB track day for members. Then, Saturday is given over to a day of testing ahead of the race weekend, with a full programme of qualifying and racing on Sunday and Monday. Sunday's racing will be topped by the annual Bill Taylor Memorial race, which is a round of the Michelin Porsche Open Series. A capacity grid is expected for the hour-long race, which is open to one or two drivers per car, with mandatory pit stops and a handicap result as well as a scratch result. The race is designed to raise money for the fund set up to remember one of the country's most popular Porsche racers. Taylor continued to race his Carrera RS right up until the final stages of his battle with cancer. The second Michelin Porsche Open Series race of the weekend will follow on Bank Holiday Monday (29 August), run over a 40-minute duration. The pair of races for the Michelin Porsche Club Championship will come at a critical stage of the season-long championship battle, as only two races will remain after the Brands double-header.Meanwhile, the pair of 4-Cylinder Trophy races will feature four classes, encouraging as wide a range of front-engined 4-cylinder cars as possible, and the 924s will also have a double header. For competitors in the Michelin Porsche Club Speed Championship, the Brands sprint will be repeated having been judged a great success in 2004.
