Monza 1000Km Broken bolt denies Vann 2nd

A broken suspension bolt 2 hours into the Monza 1000 Km race costBirminghams Christian Vann second place.  The bolt broke at the end of JeanMarc Gounons stint, wrecking a tyre and costing the team 8 laps while theyrepaired the car. Firstly Alex Frei, then for the last two hours Christianset about catching up, Christian moving the car from 11th 2 hours before theend up to 6th overall at the finish, and 4th place in LMP1 class.

The car was twelve laps down on the leader at the end, but only 7 lapsbehind 2nd place Zytek.  Christian commented, " Without losing those 8 lapswe would have comfortably taken 2nd place, in some ways 4th is great, but itstill hurts to miss out on taking our first podium together, my sponsors,Trafigura seemed to enjoy it, hopefully at Silverstone we can give them theresult they deserve"

The team now look forward to the Silverstone round on the weekend of 14/15th August.
