John Morris and Chris Flavell will return to the 2005 Armajaro MSA British Historic Rally Championship on the Manx Historic Rally (28-30 July), a year after their last run in the championship.Morris has acquired the post-historic Hillman Avenger previously campaigned by Phil Atkinson and is eager to get back onto the stages after a year out of the sport. In July 2004 they tackled the Manx in a Porsche 911, but lost the brakes on the first stage and later retired. Prior to that, they had rallied a Hillman Imp in the championship, but that car has recently been shipped to its new owner in New Zealand.The Avenger will be tended by Stourbridge Motorsport, and will go up against the 1600cc Escorts in class C2. "John's very keen to get back out rallying again," says Morris. In C2, they will go head to head with the class leading Escort of Ken Forster/John Stanger-Leathes. "Ken's a very good benchmark to go up against," reckons Morris.
