Wimbledon crashes back into action

Spedeworth South gets the new season of Stock Car racing at Wimbledon Stadium off to an exciting start with the Stock Cars, Rookie Bangers in team racing action, and the non-contact Stock Rods on Sunday, August 14th at 5pm.

Full contact thrills and spills will be provided by the 1300cc Stock Cars as the armoured track warriors contest their National Championship. The Stock Cars are real crowd pleasers at Plough Lane and after the summer break the drivers will be itching to put the front bumpers to good use in pursuit of the National Championship title.

Fans of non contact racing won’t be disappointed on opening night as the Rookie Rods take to the circuit for their first Wimbledon outing of the new season. Built to a budget to allow the average fan to take part in racing the evenly matched cars always provide plenty of close racing action.

It will be back to the metal bending with a vengeance when the Rookie Bangers tear each other apart in a 4 a side team racing. The Rookie Bangers always turn Plough Lane into a scrap yard when racing individually, so when team honours are at stake the auto destruction rises accordingly as the drivers of extremely battered machines attempt to go out in a blaze of glory by ploughing into the opposing team’s cars that are still moving.

With three formulas in action, Rookie Banger team racing, the Stock Car’s National Championship to be decided on the night and the drivers keen to put the pedal to the metal after the Summer break the racing is going to be fast and furious at Wimbledon Stadium, Britain’s finest stock car racing circuit.
