Shedden set for Carrera Cup

............. at KnockhillGordon Shedden will make his Carrera Cup GB debut at Knockhill over the weekend of 27/28 August when he drives the Porsche Cars with Team Autosport entry. It will be only his second race outing of the 2005 season. For the former BTCC racer, this will be a big weekend as, alongside racing the Porsche 911GT3 Cup car, he will be kept busy in his role of Business Development Manager at the Scottish track. It is a true family business, as Gordon's wife Jillian is company secretary, and father-in-law Derek Butcher owns the circuit. "It's a mega busy time for Knockhill. But I want to concentrate on doing the best job I can in the Porsche," says Gordon. "I'd love to get back into racing fulltime, in either the BTCC or GT racing, so the Porsche drive is really important."I've never raced rear-wheel drive before, my background is in front-wheel drive," says Shedden. "The car will be absolutely on it and I certainly know my way around Knockhill, but it'll take a little bit to really get into it. It should be very, very entertaining!"However, Shedden has an important record to try and maintain at his home track. "I've won in every single car I've ever raced at Knockhill. But to keep the record going in Carrera Cup will take some doing!" Shedden's first experience of the 911GT3 Cup car will be during pre-race testing at Knockhill on Friday morning. He lives just outside Dunfermline, within 10 minutes of the Knockhill track.
