Down to the wire at Bovingdon

THREE HERTFORDSHIRE RACING TITLES TO BE CLAIMED AT BOVINGDON RACEWAY

It will be a day of all-action racing when Spedeworth South hosts the Hertfordshire Championship races for the 2.0 Hot Rods, Stock Rods, and Ministox at Bovingdon Raceway on Sunday August 21st at 1.30pm.

The 2.0 Hot Rods are firm favourites at Bovingdon and the star drivers of this fast and furious formula will be in attendance hoping to claim the title and lift the silverware on the day.  With a field of top names all eager to be first across the line the action will be non stop from the second the green flag waves to get the cars under way until the chequered flag flies over the winner.

The powerful non-contact 2.0 Hot Rod drivers will be going all out to secure the Herts title. The highly tuned rods are always thrilling to watch at Bovingdon with bumper-to-bumper racing the order of the day and with the title up for grabs spectators can expect those bumpers to be separated by a tissue paper’s width as the drivers duel for the silverware.

The evenly matched Stock Rods also provide very close racing at Bovingdon. Built to a budget, to allow fans the chance to get into the highly competitive world of Hot Rod racing, these machines are none the less very rapid. Large grids of cars and drivers determined to seize the title will produce some exciting racing on the day.

The final title race is for the Ministox. Piloted by young (11-16 year old) drivers the armoured Minis allow kids the chance to gain the experience needed to compete in stock car racing while showcasing the sport’s future talent.  The young drivers are as keen as mustard and with a local title on the line the racing is bound to be highly charged.

Rounding off the day’s action the crowd-pleasing Rookie Bangers will be taking each other apart in Round 8 of their ongoing and highly entertaining track championship.

With another value for money, four formula racing programme, with no less than three titles to be decided, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) will provide more action packed racing when the green flag waves on August 21st.
