USA Sprints Post Bounty on Scotty Adema @ Auburndale!

The USA Sprints South Florida’s # 1 Dirt Sprintcar Organization will make their 2nd ever visit to the action packed Auburndale Speedway in Auburndale Florida Saturday Night August 20th. This will mark the 10th race on pavement for the 2005 Southern Thunder Tour season for the South Florida Dirtcar Series. The last race at Auburndale had the fans standing and cheering as the cars put on a display that was hard to imagine. Many of the drivers and Teams are now getting a handle on pavement racing and the lap times and the amount of passing has shown just that.

There have been 3 different Winners thus far in 2005 with Scotty Adema, the "Fort Myers Flash", who is known as a pavement specialist, taking top honors seven times. Along with Adema "Tiny" Tim George who won at Hialeah will be there as well. George will also take his marginal point lead over RC Roper into Saturday the night affair at the quarter mile speedplant. The USA Sprints have issued a "Bounty" on Scotty Adema for this next race. Any driver that wins the race other than Adema will claim an additional 100.00 bonus. If Adema can come from the back of the pack he will claim the bonus if he wins.

Word has it that some of the States top drivers are also planning attending Auburndale. Current Eastbay regulars Donnie Maxwell, the Ford driver from Tampa along with Tim Holston and Danny Jones are expected. This weekends race will definitely have many wondering if anyone will catch the Tommy Rice owned # 67 J & J Sprinter of Adema. The last race at Auburndale Shane Kriedler # 52 had the car to beat but a failed power steering unit put him out. Also expected is Greg "The Jet" Leonard from Wimauma Florida driving the Pooles Body Shop Special # 85. Look for Greg to have the Avenger up front where he is accustomed to running.

Other USA regulars that will be expected to run up front are Dennis Misuraca, Sean "Zippy" Namor, and Mike "Hollywood" Schroeder from SW Ranches Florida. Up and coming "Young Guns" Dakota Stevens and Michael Smith are in a heated Rookie Points battle and will be on hand. Stevens has shown brilliance thus far in his Rookie season with steady run of top 10’s and now sits in 6th place in the overall Points. There are also some new rumblings of a possible 3rd car added to the Tommy Rice stables. This car will carry the #2 and Tommy himself may be the pilot. Tommy has raced just once and brought home a very respectable 2rd place at Citrus County back in July.

Among the other USA Sprints notables expected to run up front is RC Roper "The Racin Cowboy" driving for Keels & Wheels Magazine. Scot Steffe is back as the head wrench and has the # 92 Jenkins running in fine form lately. Roper has elected to start in the back with Adema. Hailing from Cape Coral are Rookie Jeff "G-Man" Styner in the 15jr and the # 63x of Dave Oblinger who returns to the seat in the # 63 Sprinter of the Dave "Wildman" Link’s Cool-Aid Air Conditioning Special. So make plans for this weekend’s race, as this could very well be the most competitive of the year.
