Jimmy Kite brought home his seventh consecutive finish for the Ethanol Hemelgarn Racing team this weekend at the Pikes Peak International Raceway's Honda Indy 225.
The #91 Ethanol-sponsored Dallara/Toyota/Firestone entry started 20th for thesecond time in two weeks after struggling in practice on Saturday. The teammade changes in the morning practice and throughout the race making the carbetter as the race progressed.
In a race that lasted just under 1 hour 28 minutes and saw only one caution,opportunities to move up the grid were few and far between. However, with goodpit stops and strong driving, Kite did manage to pick up three spots and finish17th.
"It's a shame our finish wasn't better," Kite said after the race. "We had a goodcar all day. This is the second best car we've had all year; last week's car inKentucky being the best. We just didn't get any breaks. There weren't anyyellows. It was fun, but"
This was Kite's ninth IndyCar start of the year since replacing the rookie Dana,who was injured practicing for the Indianapolis 500. The Ethanol HemelgarnRacing team will be back in action at Chicagoland Speedway in Joilet, IL onSeptember 11th. The race will be broadcast live on ABC at 1:30 Eastern Time.
