Scotty Adema Claims Bounty Win at Auburndale!
The Fort Myers Flash Scotty Adema took the challenge by the USA Sprints and started dead last to work his way through the pack to claim his 9th Win this past Saturday night at the Auburndale Speedway. Danny Jones and Shane Kriedler brought the field out of turn four and USA starter Bud Howell waived the green flag for the start of the 30 lap feature. Immediately Danny Jones grabbed the lead from Kriedler as the 2 cars bumped in the heat of the moment down into turn one. Jones paced the field for ten laps and looked real good in his Mike Woolsey owned and beautifully prepared # 99.
Bob Parrow spun on lap # 2 after contact with another car. He went to the back. The restart had Jones, Kreidler, Mike Schroeder, Tim George and Dennis Misuraca in the top 5. On lap 7 the car of Shane Kriedler # 52 stalled on the back straight and brought out another caution. He was restarted and went to the back. Danny Jones still had command but was now catching lapped traffic. On lap 10 Jones caught lapped traffic and went low. This allowed Tim George, Dennis Misuraca, RC Roper and Scotty Adema to blast bye in a mad scuffle of cars on the back straight.
It seemed that the front was not the place to be as one car after another slid from the front to the back. Most of the cars took on a terrible push and the drivers were doing everything they could to keep their positions. Adema and Roper had a heated battle during the first stages coming from the back row as they encountered lapped traffic. Adema then overtook Roper and Dennis Misuraca on the inside with a fabulous move that thrilled the fans. Tim George was just in front of Adema and battling lapped traffic himself when Scotty drove to the top and pulled ahead coming out of turn four for the lead.
Adema went on to a uncontested Win the rest of the way and claimed the Bounty for Winning from the last starting position. Tim George # 1 drove a great race to take 2nd. George was chased home by Dennis Misuraca # 3d and RC Roper # 92 who was followed by Danny Jones in the # 99. This was Jones’s best finish of the season. Mike "Hollywood" Schroeder # 6 came home 6th and was followed by Shane Kriedler in the # 52 Sticks Pest Control Maxim. Dakota Stevens # 79 brought home another fine effort in 8th and was just ahead of Bob Parrow # 24 and Geoff Styner in the 15jr in 10th.Newcomer was 72 year old Curtis Sutton in the # 75 who did a fine job holding his own throughout the race.
"Tiny" Tim George still has a sizeable points lead followed by RC Roper, Scotty Adema and Michael Smith and Dennis "D-Man" Misuraca rounding out the top five.
