Lightning strikes at Bovingdon Raceway

Spedeworth South  brings a great, value for money days racing to Bovingdon Raceway when the Lightning Rods, Rookie Rods and Rookie Bangers take to the track on Sunday September 4th at 1.30pm.

The fearsome Lightning Rods return to the Herts circuit and will undoubtedly deliver another session of high-powered racing as the drivers fight it out to claim the Hertfordshire Championship title. The Ford Sierra based Lightning Rods really test the driver’s skill and courage around Bovingdon. Catch these big and powerful cars in action and you will see why they have earned the nickname of ‘Frightening Rods.’

The Rookie Rods will also be racing for their Hertfordshire Championship The Rookie Rods are built to a budget to allow the average person to take part in short circuit racing.  This budget factor and the fact that engine specs are closely controlled produces large grids of evenly matched cars and plenty of close racing action at Bovingdon.

The Rookie Bangers will round off a great day’s racing when they are in action in Round 9 of their ongoing track championship. With the championship moving into its closing stages, plenty of cars will be on the track chasing those vital points as the drivers struggle to keep their MOT failures going long enough to see the chequered flag wave.

With three great formulas in action, two Hertfordshire titles to be decided, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) looks set to provide another action packed day of racing.
