Entertainment on the……Go Go Go

Never again will motorsport fans get bored when the train has been delayed, twiddle their thumbs at the airport waiting for the boarding gate to be announced or have to endure flicking through out-of-date magazines in the doctors’   patients   lounge.    F1   Grand   Prix™,   a   launch   title   for   the   eagerly   awaited   release   of   PSP®  PlayStation  Portable™,  hits  the  shops from 1 September, offering the ultimate entertainment experience for people on the go. British B(A(R Honda F1 test driver, Anthony Davidson, travels the world more than most.

On top of completing hundreds  of  laps,  testing  the  B(A(R  Honda  F1  car,  he  attends  every  Grand  Prix  race  with  the  team.  So,  when Sony Computer Entertainment invited him to test drive F1 Grand Prix for PSP, it was too tempting an offer for the self confessed gamer to turn down. Anthony Davidson said, “Keeping up-to-date with the latest gadgets is one of my favourite hobbies, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the PSP. Travelling from circuit to circuit comes with the territory, so it will be great to have one piece of kit that enables me to enjoy a quick session on a game, watch a film or relax listening to my music collection wherever the job takes me.”

The B(A(R Honda driver then joked, “I’ll just have to make sure the mechanics keep their hands off it!” Motorsport  fans  can  now  enjoy  Formula  One™  24-hours  a  day,  playing  F1  Grand  Prix  on  PSP  or  F1  05™  on PlayStation®2.  These  are  the  only  official  games  of  the  FIA  Formula  One  World  Championship™  and  the  only titles  to  feature  this  season’s  cars,  drivers,  teams  and  circuits,  including  the  new  Istanbul  Otodrom  track  in Turkey.     PSP is a revolution in entertainment with music, film and gaming delivered ‘on the go’.

Every PSP game is fine- tuned to deliver an enhanced PlayStation 2 experience, while ensuring games are quickly accessible and can be enjoyed in a bite-sized format for short journeys - or in full for the long-haul.   F1 Grand Prix on PSP offers fast action game play with seven challenge modes. Player can challenge each other on the WiFi head-to-head mode, for up to eight players; survive the Eliminator Championship Mode where a car is ‘removed’ after each lap; and master the Challenge Mode, which includes speed and racing line tests.   For players that fancy a short session, the three lap quick race mode provides all the excitement of a ‘mini’ Grand Prix. Motorsport fans will experience a variety of racing scenarios; from making your way up the grid to defending your race position, which all add depth and variety to the game play!

Downloadable add-ons are a key feature for F1 Grand Prix. Players can add their own music collection into the game and download stats from the 2005 season as it happens, so you can drive with the up-to-date grid positions on race days. With B(A(R Honda F1 driver Anthony Davidson backing this winner, F1 Grand Prix for PSP gives motorsport fans all they need to recreate the drama of track racing, anytime, anyplace, anywhere. PSP will retail for the suggested price of £179.99 and F1 Grand Prix will retail for the suggested price of £34.99.
