Bratt To Race at awesome Donington event

Adderbury teenager Will Bratt is set to perform in front of one of the country’s biggest motorsport crowds in a little over a week’s time, 10th/11th September, as part of the World Series by Renault festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire. The event, which has seen an incredible 150,000 free tickets issued to spectators and motorsport enthusiasts across the country, is almost guaranteed to be the biggest circuit-based motor racing event of 2005, second only to the Formula One World Championship’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone.Headlined by the latest races in the World Series by Renault category, along with a special demonstration of Renault’s R24 Formula One car by F1 legend Rene Arnoux, the festival promises to be huge and will see competitors from the Formula Renault UK Championship with Michelin racing in front of their biggest ever crowd by far. Will, who today returned to Bloxham School to continue his studies after tremendous success in his recent AS-Level exams, is confident Donington Park has an almost perfect blend of challenges which will suit his driving style, particularly as the meeting will be staged on the 2.5-mile Grand Prix configuration of the circuit. From the fast, flowing sections of the track, such as the Craner Curves, through to the more technical parts of Donington’s GP layout, including the Melbourne and Goddard's Hairpins, the Scorpio Motorsport ace is excited at the prospect of not only his first ever outing on the GP circuit, but also to be racing in front of tens of thousands of fans.“Donington is a great track and especially the Grand Prix layout”, said Will. “It’s one of the most demanding tracks in the country and even though I’ve never raced on the GP configuration I’m confident we can have a successful weekend.“The GP layout throws a different dimension into the equation, adding a nice technical section which should suit me quite well I think. I’m happy we’ll be competitive there but perhaps the key point of the entire lap will be the Goddard’s Chicane – if you can get that right you’ll be quick as it’s such a major part of the lap.”Alongside the Formula Renault UK races and the latest action from the awesome 3.5-litre World Series by Renault cars, the festival will also feature the Formula Renault Eurocup – featuring the same 192hp FR 2.0 cars as Formula Renault UK – the inaugural Eurocup Megane Trophy and the ever-popular ELF Renault Clio Cup.“It’s going to be an awesome weekend”, added Will. “It’ll be a privilege to perform in front of a capacity crowd and will be an amazing opportunity. It could very easily become the second biggest event of the year behind the British Grand Prix and I for one will be very proud to be part of that, particularly as I’m in my first season of single-seater racing.”Will is now just six points behind chief B4 Group Graduate Cup rival Richard Keen in the battle for the ‘championship within a championship’ following last weekend’s visit to a drenched Knockhill Circuit, near Dunfermline in Scotland. Official testing ahead of the 15th and 16th rounds of the Formula Renault UK Championship with Michelin will take place from 09.00 on Wednesday, 7th September, with qualifying scheduled to take place on Saturday, 10th September. Both races then take place on Sunday, 11th September. Will Bratt Championship Position:B4 Group Graduate Cup Class – 2nd overallFormula Renault UK Championship with Michelin – 15th overall
