Symantec Joins Renault F1 Team

..... as Strategic Technology Provider

Following the merger of VERITAS Software with Symantec in July 2005, the Renault F1 R25 featured the new Symantec logo on its lower sidepods at the Italian Grand Prix, replacing the previous VERITAS branding. In parallel with the merger, Symantec has recently chosen to extend the duration of its Official Supplier Agreement with the Renault F1 Team.

Graeme Hackland, IT Manager of the Renault F1 Team, commented: «We are delighted to be entering a new phase of our relationship with Symantec. We enjoyed a successful and long-standing relationship with VERITAS, which enabled us to protect our data efficiently and securely at both Enstone and Viry. The extension of our partnership with Symantec will open a wide range of exciting opportunities to develop our relationship even further.»

Lindsey Armstrong, Symantec's Vice-President, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, commented: «Our relationship with the Renault F1 Team extends beyond a simple supplier based agreement. From protecting critical data downloaded from the cars after a race to managing e-mail stores across the team's offices, our collaborative efforts have grown over the last nine years as their business requirements have evolved. We are pleased to play an important role in the winning tradition of the Renault F1 Team both on and off the track.»
