Special price For Milton Keynes shoppers
Fans travelling to Silverstone for the penultimate round of this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship on Sunday 18 September are being given a great chance to purchase race day tickets at half price. Anyone spending £50 or more in one day at a store in central Milton Keynes between 8 and 15 September can trade in their receipts and receive a £10 discount on race day tickets. Entry on the gate will cost £20. Alternatively, valid receipts can be traded in to claim a £10 discount on a weekend ticket, normally £25. Receipts can only be exchanged at one of Silverstone’s ticket booths that will be placed inside Milton Keynes ’ huge indoor shopping mall thecentre:mk’s Middleton Hall between 9am and 6pm on Thursday 15 September and also outside the nearby Xscape leisure complex after 6.30pm. The spectator-friendly initiative is further confirmation of the importance the BTCC places on its growing fan base and is part of the championship’s forthcoming high-speed demonstration that will take place during the evening of 15 September next to Xscape along Milton Keynes' Avebury Boulevard . During the day, BTCC cars and drivers will have already been in thecentre:mk’s Middleton Hall for public viewing, autographs and give-aways. Alan Gow, BTCC Series Director, comments: “This is another fine example of the BTCC working in harmony with a circuit to promote one of its race meetings. The public shopping in Milton Keynes – they might be out buying a couple of gifts, a piece of furniture or simply getting in the week’s groceries – can come away with a half-price race day ticket to see the BTCC at Silverstone on 18 September. “It couldn’t be simpler and we are hugely excited about working alongside Milton Keynes and Silverstone in the run-up to what we expect to be a great day’s racing.” Silverstone is likely to be the most hotly-contested race meeting of the BTCC season so far – it is the penultimate round and, with a number of titles in the balance and the drivers’ nerves on edge, spectators are sure to be for some spectacular action. Furthermore, the BTCC will be racing on Silverstone’s much shorter National circuit for the first time in ten years – that means more laps around a track that is famous for its close racing. The BTCC grid, including star drivers such as Matt Neal , Yvan Muller, Dan Eaves and Jason Plato, will take to the race track three times on the Sunday and also be on hand to meet the spectators during the hugely popular paddock autograph session. In addition, there will be eight more races from the BTCC’s supporting championships run by prestige motor manufacturers BMW, Porsche, Renault and SEAT.
