Jordan set for more Ginetta race
Andrew Jordan will contest the final two rounds of the AVO Ginetta Championship at Mondello Park (17/18 September) and Silverstone (8/9 October) as well as the non-championship races on the Brands Hatch GP circuit supporting the A1 GP race on 24/25 September. The 16-year old made a sensational race debut at Castle Combe in June when he qualified third for his first circuit race. Since then, he has been concentrating on his Junior Rallycross campaign, but will now finish the Ginetta season to gain more experience ahead of the 2006 season. The remaining three race weekends fit in around his rallycross schedule, in which he is bidding to win both the British and BTRDA Junior titles. "This will give Andrew more track time as we're making plans for 2006," says his father Mike. "Castle Combe was a baptism of fire for him!"Although he has not raced the John Guest-backed Ginetta since June, Andrew has carried out some testing and was at Pembrey last week. "He was quicker than me in the Ginetta at Pembrey," confirmed Mike, who will race his regular Porsche 911GT3RS in the remaining British GT events at Mondello and Silverstone.Currently, Andrew's plans for 2006 are still under discussion and the seven Ginetta races over three weekends will give him a chance to develop his race craft on the circuits.
