SIMON SAYS TAKE ME TO MONTE CARLO!
After months of searching and over 8000 applicants, the winner of Dunlop Race Academy 2 was decided after the gruelling final stage at Silverstone
Warrington driver, Simon Shaw won the title after a series of driving assessments and a track shoot-out at Silverstone. Simon fought off the competition from South East finalist, Luke Debono-Wilson from Essex and North East finalist Alec Berry from County Durham to be crowned champion of the Dunlop Race Academy 2005.
Simon said: “I was shell-shocked when it was announced that I had won and I’m still soaking it all in! The whole experience has been a dream for me and I can’t wait to compete in the Dunlop Drivers Cup. “
The car salesman was evaluated during a timed sprint and solo laps in a fully race prepared Ginetta G20 and Simon also passed his gruelling Approved Racing Driver School course with flying colours. He will go on to compete in the televised Dunlop Driver’s Cup; the final round in the highly competitive Ginetta Championship where he will share the track with experienced racers.
Following this, Simon will sample a celebrity lifestyle including a club class flight to Monaco for a two-night stay in David Coulthard’s Columbus Hotel. He will experience the luxury of helicopter transfers, a bespoke Ozwald Boateng suit and accessories from exclusive brands such as Mulberry, Dunhill, Paul Smith and many more.
