Ford is to support the British leg of the World Rally Championship, as the official vehicle supplier for Wales Rally GB, 2005. Taking place from 15th to 18th September in Cardiff, the rally is one of the most thrilling and action-packed sporting events taking place in Great Britain this year.

The agreement, secured by The Really Motoring Group (TRMG), involves Ford providing the rally with a range of support vehicles, including transit vans and minibuses.

“We are delighted to have Ford onboard for this year’s Wales Rally GB,” enthused Wales Rally GB’s Chief Executive, Andrew Coe.

Wales Rally GB, the British round of the World Rally Championship, has been running, in various guises, since 1932 and has since grown dramatically in terms of size and stature. Attracting an increasing number of spectators, leading drivers and amateur entries, Wales Rally GB has grown over 70 years to become an iconic event for vehicle manufacturers and sponsors to be associated with.

Wales Rally GB is the 12th round of the World Rally Championship and sees Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, as well as the perilous forests of South, West and Mid-Wales, play host to the might of factory teams from across the world and amateur drivers alike.

Wales Rally GB starts in Cardiff at 19.30 hours on Thursday 15th September and returns to the Welsh capital for the ceremonial Finish, at 14.10 hours on Sunday 18th.

Wales Rally GB is the British round of the FIA World Rally Championship. The Welsh Development Agency, supported by the Welsh Assembly Government, has been the title sponsor since 2003.

This annual event, now in its 61st year, is organised and promoted by Rally GB Ltd, a division of International Motor Sports (IMS), the commercial arm of the Motor Sports Association (MSA), the governing body of motor sport in the United Kingdom.
