Spedeworth South will provides a feat of full contact racing action at Bovingdon Raceway on Sunday September 18th when the National Bangers, 2.0 Stock Cars and the hilarious Reliant Robins take to the Hertfordshire circuit at 1.30pm.
The National Bangers (limited to under 2.0 litres for this event) always provide crashes, rollovers and general automotive mayhem at Bovingdon. Add to the driver’s capacity for generous use of the front bumpers on any given day, the fact that this meeting carries a cool £1,000 prize money and it will come as no surprise that cars will be sent to the great scrap yard in the sky in fine style as the day’s racing progresses.
To add to the day’s fender bending action the all-action 2.0 Stock Cars make a guest appearance at Bovingdon. These big, brutal and heavily armoured cars are popular wherever they appear around the UK and are sure to give the Bovingdon safety fence and recovery crews a hard day’s work as they spin, barge and crash their way through the day’s racing programme.
Racing action of a different kind is on the cards when the three-wheeled Reliant Robins take to the track. Never noted for their handling ability the ‘Plastic Pigs’ can be relied upon to provide scores of rollovers as the fibreglass cars are literally are driven to pieces around the Herts circuit.
With National Banger action, the thundering 2.0 Stock Cars and the grin making Reliant Robins, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) will provide another value for money, action packed day ‘s racing.
