Cole joins Carrera Cup for Brands

Mark Cole will race with Team RPM in the final two rounds of the Carrera Cup GB at Brands Hatch on 1/2 October. Cole is aiming to use these races as a springboard towards a full Carrera Cup campaign in 2006."I want to put a difficult 2005 season behind me and I definitely want to do the Carrera Cup next year. The whole idea of the Brands weekend is based around the 2006 season and I'm working very hard towards next year," says Cole, who was the Porsche Cup champion in 2002.Cole is already around halfway towards a budget for next season and will rejoin the team he raced with at the end of the 2003 season. "I love the idea of the new Carrera Cup car. It's a strong package with a very level playing field and I just want to race in the Porsche again; it's a very special car."For the two Brands races, Cole will run alongside Team RPM regulars Tim Harvey and Steve Clark in a three-car line-up. "We're delighted to have Mark back with us at Brands," says team boss Robin Mortimer.Cole will jump straight into the car during pre-race testing on Friday, but has already been a race winner on the Brands Hatch GP circuit this season. "I'm realistic about my expectations for Brands," he says.
