Magnificent Seven Announced For World Legends Title BidsNewly crowned UK National Champion Peter Morton leads a seven car team travelling to the USA in November for the annual Legends Cars World Championships. The event takes place at Sears Point during the second weekend in November but the cars have already set sail leaving the drivers and their helpers a few weeks to recharge themselves before meeting up with their machinery once again on the other side of the Atlantic.Morton is a regular traveller to the States and has a consistent record of winning races each year he has competed although the overall win has eluded him so far. Peter will be joined by former Scottish Champion Jamie Clarke and his father Jim Clarke, the pair are also well used to Infineon Raceway having visited before. Simon Belcher who was runner up in the Semi Pro World Championship two years ago makes another visit as does Scottish Championship runner up Aly Hunter. Two USA first timers complete the line up. Dave Newsham finished fifth in the 2005 National Championship and is widely regarded as one of the fastest drivers in the field taking four race wins and no less than three lap records. The final entrant is David Thorburn who won the Scottish Rookie Championship this season. As well as competing for the individual world titles which are up for grabs the lads will also be racing as a team against the best of the Americans for the third running of the Transatlantic Trophy.
