Segrue confirmed Porsche Club champion
Tom Segrue has been confirmed as the 2005 Michelin Porsche Club champion following the final races of the season at Croft recently. Since the last race of the year, Segrue's 944S2 has been power tested and found to be within the allowed limits and the engine management control unit (ECU) has been checked and complies with the rules.Apart from engine problems that got his season off to a bad start at Snetterton in April, Segrue scored strongly in class two in each of the remaining 15 races to clinch the title over class one pacesetter Ian White (3.2 Carrera). However, Segrue's winning margin was just five points at the end of the season.Segrue had previously won the BARC Production Car title in 1993 and has raced with the Porsche Club GB for the last five seasons. His car was re-shelled at the end of 2004 following an accident at Brands Hatch.White convincingly won the class one title, while Ben Demetriou (911SC) was class three champion.Segrue, and the other award winners, will be presented with his trophy at the Porsche Club Motorsport Awards Dinner at the Hilton Puckrup Hall on Saturday 12th November.
