Silverstone
Race 1
In incredibly wet conditions Nathan Kinch and Andrew Kirkaldy led another Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari one-two, as team-mates Tim Mullen and Chris Niarchos followed them across the line. Ben Collins managed to claim third place in the Embassy Racing Porsche after a last lap battle with the Team Eurotech Porsche driven by Michael Caine. Collins had used a late safety car period to overcome a stop-go penalty earlier in the race to put himself and Neil Cunningham onto the podium. Godfrey and David Jones took advantage of Caine’s spin to claim fourth place, leaving their Eurotech team-mate to limp across the line for fifth place. The RJN Motorsport Nissan 350Z driven by Michael Bentwood and Anthony Reid took sixth position.
Former British GT Champion Ian McKellar Jr took victory with James Murphy in the GT3 category. A superb drive meant they finished in an incredible sixth place overall, just ahead of Stuart Moseley and Phil Quaife. Andy Britnell and Damien Faulkner took third place with Martin Rich and Julian Westwood taking first place in the invitation class.
Race 2
On a dry track Nathan Kinch and Andrew Kirkaldy scored their eleventh win of the season ahead of the Embassy Racing Porsche of Neil Cunningham and Ben Collins. Mike Jordan and Michael Caine chased the Embassy pair hard during the race in the Team Eurotech Porsche, but had to settle for third place at the chequered flag.
Chris Niarchos and Tim Mullen brought the second Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari home in fourth place to take second in the championship. Godfrey and David Jones took fifth place. Stuart Moseley and Phil Quaife took victory in the GT3 category ahead of David Ashburn and Fred Moss. Andy Britnell and Damien Faulkner took third place as Tim Harvey and Alex Mortimer clinched the win in the invitation class. Michael Butler, Dunlop Motorsport: “Tyre wear was never an issue over the course of the weekend. All the cars were consistent and most of the cars were putting in their fastest laps in the closing stages of the race. It’s great to end the year on such a high, but it is also disappointing to see 13-years of association with the British GT Championship come to an end.”
