Silverstone podium for Team Eurotech

Mike Jordan and Michael Caine wrapped up their British GT Championship season with a podium finish for Team Eurotech at Silverstone (9 October), when they finished third in the John Guest-backed Porsche 911GT3RSR.Third place in Sunday's final race was backed up by a brace of top five finishes over the weekend for the team's Preci-Spark supported car of David and Godfrey Jones.Jordan and Caine qualified fifth on Saturday ahead of the first hour-long race, which ran in increasingly wet and slippery conditions at the end of Saturday afternoon."We had a lot of oversteer in the wet conditions," reported Jordan, who ran the first stint and held fourth place before the pit stops. Some quick pit work altered the car's roll bar settings as Caine took over for the second half of the race. In the closing stages Caine got ahead of the Embassy Racing Porsche of Ben Collins, but contact on the final lap sent the Eurotech car spinning down to fifth place. It was an unfortunate end to a tough race.Sunday's race ran in dry conditions in front of a good end-of-season crowd and Caine took the first stint. Just before mid-distance, he pitted with the car in fifth place as Jordan took over and he was soon up to third and attacking the Embassy car – now driven by Neil Cunningham – for second place. At times, Jordan was right on Cunningham's tail, but the stronger engine in the Embassy car always kept Cunningham just ahead. Even at the flag, the gap was less than a second after an absorbing battle. "Our car braked better, but their engine is very strong," reported Jordan. "I really enjoyed the race, but I was disappointed not to get second. I absolutely drove the wheels off it!"
