Fifteen teams selected for 2006

The World Series by Renault Organizing Committee has made its final selection of teams to take part in the 2006 World Series Formula Renault 3.5 Championship.

The committee consists of Jean-Paul Mari (Motorsport and Communications Director, Renault Sport), François Sicard (Motorsport Director, Renault Sport), Jaime Alguersuari (President, RPM Racing) and Jordi Castells (Motorsport Director, RPM Racing).The 15 teams who have signed a participation agreement and are therefore officially  selected for the 2006 Championship are as follows (in alphabetical order):

The Organizing Committee would like thank the teams who were not selected for expressing an interest in taking part in the Championship (listed in order of priority on the waiting list):

Finally, the Organizing Committee has announced that Thierry Tassin, the 46-year old former driver and F1 Grand Prix commentator for Belgian TV channel RTBF, has been officially appointed as  World Series by Renault» Motorsport Director.

After a motorsport career spanning 25 years, initially in single-seater racing in the UK (Formula Ford, F3, F2, F3000) and subsequently in touring car and GT racing, Thierry Tassin, a four-time winner of the Francorchamps 24 Hours, has been working for the last two years as Motorsport coordinator for Renault's Belgium/Luxembourg subsidiary.
