IN2RACING confirms 4-strong Carrera Cup
IN2RACING has announced that it will field a four-car team in the 2006 Porsche Carrera Cup GB. Mike Richards and Paul Hogarth will spearhead the driver line-up, and the team is in discussions regarding the two remaining seats. Both drivers raced Radicals with the team in 2005 and Hogarth will now return to Porsche racing, having competed in the Porsche Cup over a decade ago. Richards was a successful kart racer before switching successfully to cars."We've been presented with a wonderful opportunity," says team principal Alec Dudfield. "The Carrera Cup is a fantastic forum and we've had tremendous interest in the project. We've worked very hard to acquire four cars. Three of the cars have been bought from the 2005 Porsche Supercup, while the fourth will arrive new from Porsche in early 2006."We want to be very competitive," says Dudfield. "We are talking to a number of drivers about the two remaining seats and we're also in a position to offer winter testing in the new 997-model GT3 Cup cars. The quality of the Porsche product and back-up is unlike anything you get anywhere else."The IN2RACING team will operate from purpose-built workshops at Stratford-upon-Avon and, in addition to the Carrera Cup programme, will continue to be a major force in Radical racing.
