 MOTORSPORT ‘MADE IN AMERICA’

Most people will be familiar with the three main forms of motorsport in America; NASCAR, Champ Car and Indy Car.  However, these major categories are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to close racing in the USA.  In January and throughout the winter, Motors TV UK will help viewers discover various other forms of spectacular motorsport ‘Made in America’.

Four disciplines will be shown:  CORR, World of Outlaws, ARCA and TransAm.

CORR is an off-road championship using pick-up trucks with large V8 engines and high speeds.  The racing takes place on dirt tracks, sometimes designed on the edge of forests.  The sight of these pick-ups taking off over numerous jumps and crests around the circuit is a spectacle that simply has to be seen to be believed!

 The World of Outlaws presents the automotive equivalent of grasshoppers: tiny single-seat, open-wheeled cars sporting huge aerodynamic wings.  These vehicles are called Midgets and their V8 engines provide huge power and spectacular sideways racing action.  They compete on dirt track ovals and many NASCAR stars rose up through the Midget ranks on their way to the top level.

While we’re talking about stock car racing, another unmissable format is ARCA:  Similar cars to the Midgets provide just as much spectacle and the occasional unintentional excursion, though this time, on sealed, tarmac oval circuits.

And last but not the least, TransAm is a championship featuring cars which sit halfway between GT and Touring Car styles and is often run as the support race of Champ Car racing, such is its excitement and spectacle.

CORR:  from 1st January, 22h00;

ARCA:  from 3rd January, 21h00;

Transam:  from 6th January, 20h00;

World of Outlaws:  from 7th January, 21h00.
