2006 Wimbledon Internationals

Spedeworth South will get the New Year underway with a bang when the Superstox, Rookie Bangers, Lightning Rods, and 2.0 Hot Rods take to the track at Wimbledon Stadium on New Year’s Day at 2pm.

The all-action Rookie Bangers can be counted upon to supply large numbers of cars on New Year’s Day, with very few of them likely to survive into January 2nd.

The ever-popular Superstox will have their first outing for 2006 at the famous London circuit and will doubtless set the tone for the forthcoming year’s racing with their blend of high speed racing and full-blooded use of the front bumpers to storm through the pack.

Action of a non-contact kind is also on the cards when the rapid 2.0 Hot Rods roar in action. The rods’ high powered racing is in complete contrast to the bash and crash antics of the Rookie Bangers, as the cars tear around the track in bumper to bumper racing. Strong nerves and immense skill are required as the slightest nudge can lead to a very expensive visit to the safety fence.

Rounding of the start to the 2006-racing season the Lightning Rods will be in action. These big and brutal Ford Sierra based Rods always deliver breathtaking action as their sheer size and bulk, make overtaking a very hazardous affair at Plough Lane. Needless to say, this does not stop the drivers putting the pedal very firmly to the metal in an attempt to be first under the chequered flag.

With four formulas in action Spedeworth South will ensure that the New Year’s Eve hangovers are blown away in fine style with a day of great racing at Wimbledon Stadium, Britain’s finest stock car racing circuit.
