GT racing team Damax is set to contest the 24-hour Dubai race in January with a Honda Integra Group N car. Team boss Robin Ward as well as regular Damax drivers Aaron Scott and Chris Catt will also drive the car.
The race held on January 10-13, is the first 24-hour race to be held in the Middle East. The car already has a strong history in 24 hour racing having previously contested the Nurburgring 24 hour.
Robin Ward said, "This race is a bit of fun really, I don’t get many opportunities to drive these days as the team is very busy. We’ve got a good driver line up and I’m sure we will be competitive."
The team is close to finalising plans for 2006 where they expect to field cars in the European GT Open and Britcar series. A full programme in the new FIA GT3 Championship is also a possibility depending upon negotiations with drivers and manufacturers.
