• FERRARI 360 GT CAR ON STAND • SCHOOL-BASED RACING TEAM • DISPLAY OF PASTORAL SERVICES AVAILABLE • BRINGING THE GOSPEL TO 1000s OF VISITORS
January sees the prestigious annual ‘Autosport Show’ at the NEC in Birmingham. The show is the premier of its kind in Europe and attracts massive trade and public interest, in excess of 90,000 visitors will pass through the turnstiles in the 4 days that the show runs.
In keeping with aim to be at the forefront of all things motor-racing related, CIM will be in attendance at this important event publicising it's charitable work and mission.
CIM will be on stand CM15 in Hall 10 with the Ferrari 360 car that was successfully campaigned to 3rd place in the British GT3 Championship. The team would like to extend an invitation to all to drop in and take a closer look at the car. Whether involved in the industry or simply a racing enthusiast we'd love to meet you and develop links. We are there to explain the Chaplaincy services we offer the sport & industry free of charge, and the Youthwork projects that we are involved in running.
In a separate area of the show, the kitcar belonging to John Clayton (CIM Chairman) will be on display with the Lunar Racing Team. This reflects a partnership between CIM and Lunar Racing and is a School-based project providing personal development, National qualifications and extra-curricular activities to the pupils working on the kitcar. It also enables a range of spin-off activities including physics, chemistry and business-studies/marketing projects. The kitcar will be on display for the 14th & 15th of January in the ‘Learning Grid’ area of the ‘F1 in Schools’ zone in Hall 20
The CIM team will also be busy at work with their mission of sharing the good news of the gospel with the help of ‘United Christian Broadcasters’. UCB, as featured free of charge on the Ferrari’s livery, will be partnering with CIM on the stand to distribute copies of their ever popular ‘goody bags’ and ‘Word for the Day’ Bible notes. The CIM volunteer staff are grateful for the support of the stand’s sponsors: ‘Road & Track’ Ferrari specialists, Edinburgh 07778 565047 and ‘United Christian Broadcasters’ ucb.co.uk.
CIM are looking to recruit volunteer staff to run the outreach and the racing cars. We would like to hear from people who have a passion for motorsport and more importantly a passion to reach the lost.
We would also, like to hear from businessmen with a brand or product to promote to discuss how we can open up new markets, help develop a strong brand identity and at the same time further the work of the kingdom.
Tickets for the show can be purchased online at:www.autosport-international.com or by calling: 0870 380 2244
CIM is a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation (soon to be granted ‘charity status) staffed by volunteers, all of whom are committed Christians. CIM work with existing Christian competitors to promote the gospel to a wide audience by using motorsport to reach people in the same way as the companies that sponsor racing cars, but CIM do not sponsor any motorsport. The outreach work of CIM is funded by the volunteers, drivers, supporters and sponsor firms rather than CIM funding the racing teams.
