Darren Law Set for 2006 Season as Brumos Porsche Shows Speed at Rolex Grand American Daytona Test Days
The 2006 Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series held its annual Daytona test days this past weekend, and endurance racing standouts Darren Law and the Brumos Porsche Fabcar Daytona Prototype team showed a strong pace throughout the three-day event. Daytona Test Days are held in preparation for the famous and grueling Rolex 24 at Daytona – the 44th running of this twice around the clock endurance event is slated to take the green flag at noon on Saturday, January, 28th.The Brumos crew worked hard over the winter break and were able to field the #58 entry in all eight of the one-hour practice sessions held over the three day test. The brilliant blue Porsche powered Brumos machine was quick from the start of the tests, logging times in the top ten for seven of the eight sessions held. The #58 car was even able to lay claim to the quickest time in the 6th session with a lap of 1:43.953 around the 3.56 mile newly paved infield road course. Joining Law in the #58 Red Bull sponsored machine for the test days and for the upcoming race was European racing champion Sascha Maassen as well as season long teammate David Donohue. The trio-represent a formidable driver lineup, and each is eager to begin the noon to noon run to the checkered flag around the high banks of Daytona International Speedway.Law was clearly happy with the performance of the car, and is cautiously optimistic amidst the competition in the Grand American Rolex series that is always of the highest caliber.Said Law following his last stint in the car, “It really does feel great to be able to turn the times that we did over the last couple of days. Its no secret that we struggled to be competitive over the last couple of seasons, but I think all the hard work that the whole team has put into this car is beginning to pay off. This is just test days though, and we’re up against some topnotch teams that will be doing what they can to get more speed before the race. I’m happy right now though, and I can’t wait for the race.”Darren will again carry product sponsorship support from CDOC throughout the 2006 season.
