Jordan tests Focus Supercar
Andrew Jordan had his first test session in the Ford Focus Supercar in which will contest the 2006 British Rallycross Championship at the Blyton track on Monday (13 February). The 16 year-old from Sutton Coldfield, who will be the youngest ever Supercar driver in British rallycross, quickly adapted to the massive jump in performance and impressed the team with his approach and ability to learn quickly."I got on better with the car than I thought I was going to and I gelled with it as soon as I got in," reported Andrew. "It still feels really quick and everything happens so fast!""Andrew had some great tuition from Will Gollop and the fact that he has been having four-wheel drive coaching at the Bill Gwynne Rally School was a massive help to his progress," reported Andrew's father Mike.Built and run by the G-Tech team of former rallycross champion Gollop, the 550bhp four-wheel drive Focus has around ten times the power of Jordan's 2005 title-winning Mini, but he was soon sliding the car around and impressing onlookers. It is likely that Andrew will have a couple more test sessions in the car ahead of the opening round of the British Rallycross Championship on Easter Monday at Lydden.Andrew Jordan is supported by Shell, John Guest, Pirtek, Quaife Engineering and Bill Gwynne Rally School
